Dear Cathy                                                                           February 11 2008

WOW!!!! Honey looks fantastic, you've given her such a beautiful cage so big!! You are really a wonderful person. I am so lucky to of found such a caring home as I found in you. The efforts you went to when I was having to part with my girl, be it, calling me and being available for me no matter what, were very over whelming in a wonderful way, you treat me like family!!! The transition to your foster family for  Honey (Goffin Cockatoo) while waiting to be placed with you was very scary for me.... And I thought.... Honey as well, would she be ok? Will they know what she likes and doesn't like? ...all my questions and more were put to rest as the foster family and Cathy requested a list of  honeys likes and dislikes  to make Honey's transition easier on her and it did. The love and patience shown by you Cathy and your foster family was very reassuring to me! You all helped me during and after this separation by phoning and e-mailing pictures and most important being true, honest to goodness bird lovers with nothing in mind but what's best for the birds!! The frequent updates on how Honey is doing and the pictures of her wonderful new home, the love she is getting, all help in this very sad time for me. My decision to place her with you rather than sell her was the best decision I have ever made in my life.....there would of been no dollar amount that could of given me and my girl what you all have...safety, love, care and understanding...There are a lot of bad places who claim to have the birds best interest at heart but in the end it is heart breaking. I would refer you and your foster family to any person considering or having to part with there feathered friend. No where else will you find such personal, loving, honest treatment before during and after having to part with your feather child  than you will receive by Cathy!! I would love to be used as a referral if you require, please don't hesitate Cathy. I am so thankful, for you!!! GOD BLESS everyone/bird!
Sincerely Tammy D.

Dear Cathy

September 4, 2008

When my last budge Bella died I wanted to get another bird.  I looked around at the pet stores and couldn't decide on what kind of bird I wanted.  I was thinking of getting a cockatiel but I didn't know enough about them and if one would be suited for my family.  Then I looked on Sootoday and found the Cherished Wings add and looked it up.  It was wonderful to see that such a place existed so I called Cathy and spoke to her about what she did and about her birds.  I told her what I thought I was looking for and we discussed such things as my family and what kind of bird could be matched to us.  Once we both asked lots of questions and Cathy informed me on the procedures I decided a cockatiel would best suit my young family.  So one day my family and I drove out to Cherished Wings and brought the dog kids and our rabbit so Cathy could see who we were and so that we could see the birds and if there was one there suitable for us.  I already had my eyes set on a yellow and white cockatiel named LuLu.  It must have been fate because my nickname from my sister growing up was the same name.  I spent some time with LuLu that day and it was love at first sight.  A few weeks later I picked up LuLu and took her home.  We absolutely love her.  She has settled well and is loved by all.  She plays with us in the evenings and chirps when we talk to her.  Boy does she like to eat now!  Cathy was wonderful when helping me decide on whether getting a bird was right for us and was a wealth of information when learning about LuLu.  I call Cathy sometimes once a week just to let her know how LuLu is doing.   Cathy is always willing to talk and hear about her and answer any question I have.  Cathy is very close to her birds and takes excellent care of them.  It's not hard to see why she does what she does and it takes a very special person to open up her home to these forgotten, dropped off, neglected or injured birds.  As Cathy says "A little part of my heart goes with each adopted bird."

Thank you for all your help Cathy and best of luck with your flock.Lots of Love from the Grbich family Paul, Lisa, Kaden, Braydon, Jesse and Gizmo.
